Zimmermann Resort 2023 Is A Holiday-Centric Dream

June 7, 2022

Like a breath of fresh sea air under the golden Mediterranean sun, Zimmermann’s Resort 2023 collection High Tide is sporty and whimsical while also indulging the glamour of wealthy holidaymakers.

In a subtle departure from the ethereal day dresses and glamorous resort wear the Australian-born label is recognised for, Zimmermann took inspiration from maritime forces showcasing breezy, feminine and seaside-friendly silhouettes.

Setting the scene with silk twill anoraks, beachwear aplenty and low-slung cuts, nautical details including bold sailor stripes, antique world maps, rope belts, and anchor motifs are repeated throughout the collection. Several ensembles less evident in reference, like the navy trimmed light-weight wrap knits, wide-leg sailor pants and straw hats, are perfect for a day of yachting.

“For this Resort season, we’ve dived into all things nautical and embraced the romance of sailing. I loved looking at all these gorgeous images from the ’50s and ’60s of women on idyllic sailing holidays and tried to capture a sense of the simple elegance and holiday glow that came from our references – there’s hints of nostalgia through the collection but with a fresh and fun take.” – Creative Director, Nicky Zimmermann.

Zimmermann turned to the charm of the 50s and 60s for a cocktail wardrobe featuring an array of flattering silhouettes such as pearl-edged halter-neck frocks, strapless party bustiers and moulded peek-a-boo skirts contemporise in cheerful hues and colourful ikat florals.

As a nod to the Y2K movement, uber short minis are balanced with sorbet sheath dresses, and tube skirts in shades of lemon and lilac adorned with 3D brushed floral appliqués and paisley motifs — ever-appealing in their intricacy and thematic whimsy.
