What To Expect At London Fashion Week

February 17, 2022

With fashion month in full swing, the action will shift from New York to London, and with over 131 designers and groups on the programme, this season of London Fashion Week (LFW) is set to be a big one.

At London Fashion Week, labels will present their AW22 designs to the public, and it appears that fashion is re-embracing physical shows, with 37 scheduled catwalks.

With big-hitters like Richard Quinn, Erdem, Simone Rocha, and Roksanda all doing in-person events, things might seem (nearly) back to normal.

Among the names to follow this season are Nensi Dojaka (a favourite of Bella Hadid and Emma Corrin, the designer recently won the LVMH prize), up-and-coming womenswear designer Conner Ives, and Poster Girl, which is making its LFW debut.

When Is London Fashion Week?

This season, London Fashion Week is taking place from February 18 to 22, 2022.

Who Will Be Missing From LFW?

While the world is gradually returning to normal, supply chain delays caused by Covid and the uncertainty surrounding Omicron mean that there are more designers absent from fashion week schedules than we are used to.

Some of London’s biggest names, including Victoria Beckham, Christopher Kane and JW Anderson, are skipping it this season.

Burberry – possibly LFW’s biggest draw – has no plans to attend this year, but we’re hoping for a surprise show or digital presentation from the brand… Please.

How Will LFW Enter The Digital Realm?

There are plenty of ways to experience fashion week from the comfort of your own home, with 66 digital activations planned. A number of well-known designers – Ahluwalia, Temperley London, Simone Rocha, Emilia Wickstead, Vivienne Westwood, and Richard Malone – are also streaming their physical shows live online for everyone to tune in and see.

For more information on the schedule, head to the LFW website.
