A London landmark takes the grand prize for mixology
Welcome to the world’s best bar. Brass, copper, mahogany and sumptuous leather – the ultimate boîte for a perfectly constructed classic cocktail or avant-garde concoction. Situated on Mayfair’s gloriously elegant Mount Street, the Connaught Bar is nestled within the ever glamorous Connaught Hotel, discretely tucked away past its grand entrance and reception.
Those that frequent it already know it to be the best place in London for a drink, and now – the powers that be behind the World’s Best Bar Awards have made it official, crowning it the very best in the world via an anonymous vote of 540 industry experts.
Over the years, the Connaught Bar has steadily maintained a privileged position in the upper echelons under the vigilant leadership of mixology maestro Agostino Perrone (also taking home the gold at the prestigious British GQ Food and Drink Awards this year).
Business leaders, industry cognoscenti and cocktail fanatics alike regularly make the pilgrimage to delve into its drinks, infamous martini trolley and elegant David Collins designed ambience.
