The only way to get away from it all
In a world dominated by invasive technology and threatened by global pandemics and economic turmoil – privacy is the absolute luxury. Throngs of city dwellers are seeking desirably luxury alternatives to living in the crowded city, with mountain cabins and island retreats now becoming de rigour for the well-heeled set. For those that are simply not satisfied with going off grid or indulging in a semi-permanent vacation in Bermuda there is a now an incredible alternative: a floating luxury yacht / house boat.
Made by the Dutch company ARKUP, these floating ‘liveable yachts’ offer a slick new type of accommodation; solar-powered, floating, villas that encompass all the modern comforts of a house on land and all the floating fun of a yacht. Complete with stylish interiors and outdoor areas these homes boast over 4000 sq feet of living space (indoor/outdoor) and retractable decks and swim platforms. A total of eight people can live in an ARKUP comfortably making it the ideal Instagram-friendly flat share or vacation / rental home.
Whats more, the ARKUP is entirely carbon neutral, utilising rain water, high end technology and silent solar-energy engines to preserve its self sustainability. If you love this idea as much as we do – you can pick one pre-made for a cool $5.5 Million (£4.4) or customise your own, of course (as a bonus, remember that in most cases living in a floating home means that no pesky property taxes to deal with).
If you want to visit it before you buy, you’ll have to take the trip down to Miami to see the first ARKUP to be completed; book an appointment with them and the ARKUP team will look after you. To be honest, a Miami sunset drink on the deck of a floating mansion feels like a win in of itself.
