The Arnold & Son Double Tourbillon Jade Watch Would You Pay $215,000?

February 26, 2022

When it comes to looking at some of the world’s finest timepieces, there is undoubtedly no time quite like the present.

Luxury watches are some of the world’s sort after and admired pieces of technology. Watching prices can soar into the millions by combining the best craftsmanship, history and design.

And we are not talking about any old wristwatch – the Arnold & Son’s double tourbillion jade watch is one of the company’s most complicated designs for a reason.

When it comes to watches in general, all high-class watches are mechanical and operate smoothly due to the perfectly placed spring that creates the movement. These are wound by a crown that sticks on the side of the watch.

The most expensive parts that make up the watch lies within the face of the watch’s face and the tourbillion, the axil that increases accuracy and creates balance.

Yet, watches are collector items and are great for investment. Watch investment is not restricted to luxury brands because the best watches to invest in are those you love.

Arnold & Son Double Tourbillon collection was unveiled in 2014 but has since been defined for its two unique pieces adorned with dazzling green jade and delicate white opal.

This investment piece is unique because the watch has two independent tourbillons. And the two time zones of this rare model have taken on a new face with a generous 43.5 mm case.

More recently, this $215,000 watch has an impressive three-dimensional rendition of the Moon.

In effect, each time zone is equipped with its regulating organ and can be set independently down to the minute.

The colour and stone “Apple Green” is bright green jade from Wyoming. The jade’s subtle black veins add value to the rock and give the dial greater depth.

“Time isn’t the main thing. It’s the only thing.”

Monochrome gave a recent review and said that “there are even two independent local time zones set in sub-dial at noon with Roman numerals, and reference time set in sub-dial at six o’clock with Arabic numerals.”

According to Arnold & Son, “the red gold model is finished with a green alligator strap and the white gold model on a black alligator strap, both equipped with a pin buckle matching the case’s metal.”

Like many watches, they aim to tell the time, but with luxuries like this on your arm, time will feel like it lasts forever.
