The newly-opened Airelles Saint-Tropez was already on its way to becoming one of the world’s hottest luxury hotels, situated within the grand 19-century Chateau de la Messardiere and offering stunning views across the French riviera.
However, if the Airelles Saint-Tropez did need a helping hand in topping the ‘Where To Stay’ lists of travellers across the world, it’s safe to say that it has well and truly received one – world-renowned chef Nobu Matsuhisa is taking up residence.
Best known as the man behind the world-famous Nobu chain – which has consistently delighted diners everywhere, from London to Las Vegas to Los Cabos – the chef has recently opened up a new location for his namesake Matsuhisa restaurant within Saint-Tropez’s 5-star Airelles resort.
This exciting new opening offers a vibrant menu of Japanese-French fusion cuisine, with particular attention paid to dishes with fresh seafood at their core. There will also be no shortage of Matsuhisa’s classic dishes available to diners, including his famous yellowtail sashimi, black cod and rock shrimp tempura – the very dishes that have allowed Matsuhisa to build his spectacular reputation and booming global empire of eateries.
Of course, any top-class dining experience would be incomplete without the perfect beverage pairings, something which the new Matsuhisa Airelles will certainly offer. The restaurant’s extensive drinks menu will include a range of traditional Japanese sake, alongside a lovingly crafted cocktail list that will work to ensure that no meal is without an exceptional accompanying tipple.
Much like Matsuhisa’s other restaurants, Matsuhisa Airelles features a beautifully sleek interior look, throughout both the decor and the chic restaurant furnishings. However, it’s outside where the restaurant will truly come into its own, opening out onto an incredible terrace area that offers incredible views over Pampelonne Bay – some of the finest views to be found within the resort overall.
A world-famous restaurant is no doubt the perfect addition to the Airelles Saint-Tropez. Saint-Tropez’s largest hotel, the resort covers over 25 acres of land and overlooks the vast Provencal countryside. If you’re looking for the ultimate way to enjoy the famous Cote d’Azur, a sojourn here is certainly the way to do it.
The Chataeu de la Messardiere has been around since the 19th century and was purchased by the Airelles group in May 2019. Since its acquisition, the hotel has undergone extensive refurbishments in preparation for opening, redesigned beautifully under the watchful eye of acclaimed French architect and celebrated interior design expert, Christopher Tollemer. Facilities at the hotel include a spa, two outdoor pools (one nestled away within the hotel’s stunning gardens) and several restaurants and bars – with 1904, Zetta and Jardin Tropezina on site, Matsuhisa is in very good company.
They say that all good things must come to an end and this is, unfortunately, true on this occasion – those looking to experience Nobu Matsuhisa’s newest opening will have to make their plans quickly, as the pop-up is expected to close its doors on October 10th 2021.
However, we imagine that whatever takes its place will be just as spectacular – after all, it seems that offering the very best of everything is at the centre of what the Airelles St. Tropez team seeks to do.
