61 rooms, 11 suites, and “the largest pool in the area” are just a few of the hotel’s features.
Hotel brand Maisons Pariente has made an announcement regarding the grand opening of a swanky new hotel in central Paris, Le Grand Mazarin, due to welcome guests later this year in October.
The hotel will be situated in the fashionable Parisian district of Le Marais, full of historic spots, quirky boutique shops and restaurants, and ancient cobbled streets. Guests should be left wanting nothing during their stay on the banks of the Seine as the world-famous Picasso Museum is just around the corner, as is the Pompidou Centre and iconic department store BHV Marais.
According to Maisons Pariente, Le Grand Mazarin will be a base from which guests can experience the unique cultural history of the French capital. Described in a press release as “eclectic” and “flamboyant”, the five-star hotel certainly sounds intriguing and will feature 61 rooms including 11 suites.
The design has been imagined by Swedish interior designer Martin Brudnizki, who has instilled themes of French classicism with modern undercurrents.
“I love the concept of the literary salon of yesteryear,” he said, “and this was one of the main sources of inspiration when designing Le Grand Mazarin. We wanted the hotel to feel as though it has always been a part of Le Marais’ landscape, so we sought inspiration from the great houses of the aristocratic era, where figures from literature, art and music gathered in sumptuous residences, exchanging ideas and thoughts.
“Our concept of Le Grand Mazarin was to reignite this ambience for the modern-day, where guests feel as though they have arrived home and have the freedom to express themselves.”
More features at the hotel include a restaurant, bar, and the largest private swimming pool in the area, according to Maisons Pariente. Le Grand Mazarin will be the company’s first urban hotel, with its other properties located in Sant-Tropez, Méribel, and Provence.
Leslie Kouhana, President, and Kimberley Cohen, Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Maisons Pariente, said: “Le Grand Mazarin is a hotel that is above all for Parisians, a place where they can meet. It’s a real bias that you won’t find anywhere else.
“It will be the first urban hotel in our collection to embody our DNA, the Maisons Pariente spirit of simple, warm hotel luxury and sincere, generous service. We imagined Le Grand Mazarin as a place to live with multiple influences, a place to meet and share, a showcase of elegance where refinement sublimates the mix of styles and eras with fun.”
