In collaboration with Ferrari, Richard Mille has released the RM UP-01. Measuring a mere 1.75mm thick, it has been named the thinnest mechanical watch in the world.
And just like that, the new ultra-thin watch from Richard Mille – The RM UP-01, is born.
Richard Mille and Ferrari have teamed up as they reveal the world’s thinnest mechanical watch. The RM UP-01 Ferrari is so thin that it makes a 10p coin look like a clown. With just 150 samples, the wristwear beats Bulgari’s record-setting design by just 0.05mm.
The watch has a price tag of $1.8 million. Even though the Richard Mille brand is relatively new in the Swiss luxury watch market, the company watches have become increasingly popular due to the high degree of sophistication and engineering that go into them.
After 6000 hours in laboratory testing units, the 1.75 mm-thick RM UP-01 Ferrari shaved off the last few millimetres.
According to Forbes, the new watch measured 51 mm across and 39 mm top to bottom and was designed to embrace all things dashboard related.
What’s also impressive to note is that the watch is water-resistant up to 32.8 feet. Although, who won’t take off this priceless gem when hitting the water?
