ANOTHER year came to its conclusion on Friday night and celebrities made sure they turned up on New Year’s Eve in predictable style and sophistication, despite the odd mishap.
One of the biggest bashes of the year was Miley Cyrus’ star-studded New Year’s Eve special on NBC in Miami, during which the Wrecking Ball singer had to deal with a major wardrobe malfunction.
Miley was in the middle of performing Party In The USA when her glittery top fell off, but she quickly found a red blazer backstage to cover herself up in time to finish the song.
The special saw Miley link up with SNL comedian Pete Davidson to introduce a selection of live music performances and comedy sketches featuring artists such as Jack Harlow, and Miley’s little sister Noah Cyrus.
Rapper Saweetie also performed lively renditions of two of her biggest hits and capped off a stellar year as she awaits the Grammys later this month where she is up for two awards – Best New Artists and Best Rap Song.
Interestingly, Kanye West was also in Miami over the New Year as he threw a surprise party with fellow hip hop superstar Future and Justin Laboy, just days after Davidson had invited his girlfriend Kim Kardashian to the NYE special.
Elsewhere, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Jonas showed each other some love on Instagram, with Nick posting the caption: “My forever New Years kiss. ❤️”
Dua Lipa spent her New Year’s Eve sunning herself on a beach, presumably somewhere in St. Barths after her performance at the UNICEF Italia x LuisaViaRoma Winter Gala earlier in the week.
Lipa, who was spotted mingling with guests such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Bob Sinclar, and Cuba Gooding Jr., began her performance at around midnight local time on December 29th to perform a high-energy 25-minute set of her most popular songs.
Meek Mill was also spotted in St. Barths holidaying with Lil Baby and performing on New Year’s Eve on a luxury yacht. The Going Bad artist is fresh from the release of his fifth studio album Expensive Pain and posted a picture of himself on Instagram with the caption: “I’m moving too fast ✨✨✨✨”
The Philadelphia rapper was so busy enjoying his evening that he forgot to securely fasten his Chrome Hearts hat to his head, giving the wind a comical opportunity to remove it.
Canadian rapper Drake was also in St. Barths over the weekend and decided to ring in the new year with YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, fresh from his victory against Tyron Woodley earlier in the month.
