The Most Important Art Events You Need To Know About This June

June 1, 2022

The past few months have been packed with exciting art events and talented artists, and there’s more to come. People are eager to experience art physically following the lockdowns. Here are three keenly-awaited events that are happening this month.

Since Ryan Stanier launched The Other Art Fair (TOAF) in 2011 as the first fair to represent independent artists, it has rapidly expanded. It holds art fairs in Brooklyn, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, Melbourne, and Toronto.

The latest London edition features 140 artists with price points that are more affordable than Frieze or Basel. The galleries showcase their artists, making it a great place to start a collection or meet emerging and more established artists.

The most significant international art fair is staged in Basel, Switzerland. Basel is a maze worth seeing, from unique art to leading institutions this year. Art Basel opens with over 200 leading galleries and more than 4,000 artists from five continents.

The Art Basel 2022 event is at long last back in the city, a cultural hub in idyllic northwestern Switzerland. This year, it is running from June 16 – 19, 2022.

The Design District is known for its sleek modern architecture, upscale interior design stores, and art galleries. Luxury fashion and jewellery boutiques, cafes, and celebrity-chef restaurants draw a well-heeled crowd. Opening on June 14-19, 2022, The Institute of Contemporary Art will show cutting-edge work.

Design Miami will present a robust international program featuring exceptional historical and contemporary work from over 50 exhibitors, including 20+ brand new faces.
