The drop we all need, just in time for the holidays…
Canadian superstar Drake has been hinting at a collaboration with US sportswear mega-brand Nike for some time – but now DDW can reveal an exclusive first look NOCTA, the official sub label being released on December 18th by the two bastions of pop culture.
NOCTA is reportedly a reference to the rapper’s nocturnal process for which he has become known (his OVO brand’s logo also give a hat tip to the night owl) and has a focus on innovative fashion along with comfort and functionality. Following on from Nike’s ‘just do it’ sports ethos, the new brand takes that mentality and applies it to entertainers and creators, the movers and shakers at the cutting edge of culture.
Drake joins a growing list of performer collaboration in sportswear, including recent examples from Rihanna and Big Sean at PUMA, Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, and Beyoncé at adidas and Travis Scott at Nike.
According to a Nike spokesperson, the first NOCTA collection consists of four pieces, (each offered in two distinct colourways) including a black and ‘University Gold’ colour palette. Items offered consist of a puffer jacket, a hoodie, fleece trousers, and socks – with both the NOCTA and Nike logos and swooshes present throughout.
Prices start from $/£400 for the puffer jacket, to $/£120 for the hoodie and $/£30 for the crew socks and $/£110 for the fleece trousers.
NOCTA drops on December 18 at 10 a.m. GMT/ 3pm EST through Nike.
