The wait is finally over for all the fans who were eagerly awaiting the release of Timothee Chalamet’s highly-anticipated epic science fiction film, ‘Dune’, which was released to screens on 22 October 2021.
Directed by Denis Villeneuve, Dune is an adaptation of the 1965 novel of the same name by Frank Herbert and consists of an ensemble cast of actors namely Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Javier Bardem and many more who sat in these pivotal roles.
Something that was kept from the release is that ‘Dune’ is actually part one. The movie isn’t a self-contained story and Denis Villeneuve has stated in interviews that he’s taken the first book and broken it up into two parts.
After a couple of delays, the ‘Dune’ movie was released on October 22, 2021. The second part is currently in the making and is planned to be released sometime in the near future.
In the film, we follow Chalamet’s Paul Atreides, whose family inherits custody over the planet ‘Dune’, an unforgiving desert world that also hosts the only source of something known as melange, or “spice,” the most valuable material in the known universe.
Meanwhile, a plot is brewing against the Atreides from a rival family known as the Harkonnens, and the fate of Dune is eventually at stake, but Paul himself might be at the centre of a long-foretold prophecy even he doesn’t understand yet.
Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet are two of the most influential young stars of this generation in both entertainment and fashion.
The powerful duo, Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet have been spotted posing together for their Dune press tour. The co-stars began promoting the film back in September at the Venice Film Festival when Zendaya set the internet ablaze.
According to Vogue, she appeared in a wet-look Balmain gown while her co-star, Chalamet, dressed in a velvety black Haider Ackermann.
Since then, they’ve only continued their streak: Zendaya wore an ab-bearing Alaïa gown for the movie’s Paris premiere later in September, while Chalamet looked dapper in a blue Tom Ford suit.
For the London photocall for the movie this weekend, however, Zendaya and Chalamet really showcased a power-clashing combination.
Zendaya wore a spring 2020 look from Vivienne Westwood that consisted of a draped, chained top and checkerboard skirt. Chalamet, meanwhile, wore a custom, mushroom-print suit by Stella McCartney.
Like their characters, the Dune actors joined forces for the film’s final London premiere at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square for a magnetic pair of sci-fi-inspired red carpet looks.
The Euphoria actress arrived in a white sequined Rick Owens gown with avant-garde draping over the neckline while her co-star hit the carpet in a black Alexander McQueen suit lined with zippers from the brand’s Spring/Summer 2022 collection.
