Explore One of the most successful exhibitions of recent history
Last year, the French luxury house Dior made international headlines with its sold-out exhibition at the V&A entitled Christian Dior, Designer of Dreams. Spanning from 1947 to the present day, this critically-acclaimed show traced the history and impact of one of the 20th century’s most influential couturiers, exploring the enduring influence of the fashion house, and Dior’s relationship with Britain.
“There is no other country in the world, besides my own, whose way of life I like so much. I love English traditions, English politeness, English architecture. I even love English cooking.”

In a move to lift people’s spirits during this difficult time, Dior has released a full virtual tour of the exhibition on their Instagram and YouTube channels, free of charge, for all to enjoy. The V&A show was a ‘must see’ for anyone interested in fashion and tickets were notoriously difficult to obtain (unless, of course, you were a DDW member), so if you were not able to go then, do take a moment to savour it in its entirety now.
Christian Dior, Designer of Dreams takes a fascinatingly intimate view of the designer himself and presents over 200 rare Haute Couture garments drawn from the V&A’s couture collection and the extensive Dior Archives (alongside accessories, fashion photography, film, vintage perfume, original make-up, illustrations, magazines, and Christian Dior’s personal possessions).
Spectators will also discover insights from some of his famous successors, including such legendary creative directors as Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, John Galliano and Maria Grazia Chiuri.
What could be a better way to spend the weekend than indulging in Dior?
