The Cannes Film Festival may be a runway for glamour from start to finish, but stars save their most fabulous looks for the annual amfAR Gala.
The charity evening of the amfAR gala, The Foundation for AIDS Research, was held this Thursday, May 27, in the gardens of the grand Villa Eilenroc in Antibes. Each year, the Cannes Film Festival rounds out with the annual event and draws A-Lister support in droves, as the best in the business come out to support the charity and wear their finest black-tie apparel.
This year marks the 28th edition of the event, with Robert de Niro as the guest of honour and performances by Christina Aguilera, Ricky Martin and Charli XCX.
Here are all the best looks from one of the glitziest nights in Cannes.
Christina Aguilera
Wearing a long-sleeved baroque gown with intricate rhinestone detailing along the sweetheart neckline and body-con black velvet, the most eye-catching detail of Xtina’s dress was the pair of crystal snakes curling up her arms.
Charlie XCX
Charlie XCX stunned in an early 2000’s-esque black mermaid dress by Jean-Paul Gaultier couture.
Vanessa Hudgens
Vanessa Hudgens sparkled in a custom Miu Miu gold brocade dress with an embellished halter neckline and a top knot. She completed her look with diamond earrings from Chopard.
Jessica Wang
Jessica Wang looked every bit an ice queen dripping in her ultra-embellished semi-sheer Valdrin Sahiti gown. Layers of pearls slung across the influencer’s chest like a necklace, creating a low-cut, v-neckline.
Cynthia Erivo
The actor’s custom Louis Vuitton frock had a plunging bodice and a skirt made entirely of pastel pink feathers.
Cara Delevingne
The model dared to bare in a slit dress by Mônot with a maxi neckline and long sleeves.
Elsa Hosk
The Swedish model sported a Valentino minidress with a scowl neckline, trapeze skirt and glove sleeves. She complimented her outfit with sky-high platforms and a black headband.
Larsen Thompson
Thompson wore a sequinned strapless design from Armani Privé’s Fall/Winter 2021 Haute Couture collection.
