A Drink With A View: London’s Greatest Rooftop Bars

May 2, 2021

Talk about having ‘friends in high places’!

Now that we can finally head out for a drink and a catch-up with those we’ve missed over the last few months, we might as well do it in a space that boasts incredible views of London’s iconic skyline!

With so many towers and skyscrapers around the capital, it’s unsurprising that there’s no shortage of rooftop bars in London. However, we’d like to present DDW’s selection of the very best…

Allegra

Situated on the seventh floor of The Stratford Hotel, Allegra offers panoramic views of the capital – yet it’s easy to mistake it for the sort of bar you’d encounter during a sojourn in the sun, thanks to its beautifully contemporary look and vibrant seasonal menu.

Complete with an extensive wine and cocktail list, guests can sit amongst Allegra’s wildflowers and water features and enjoy a great time in a truly lovely setting.

The Nest Rooftop Bar

Treehouse London offers visitors the chance to ‘take a perch’ amongst this indoor oasis, filled with vibrant greenery and complete with 360-degree views of London’s skyline.

A playful spot where guests can enjoy a wide range of top-class cocktails and delicious bar bites as in-house DJs provide the perfect soundtrack, the atmosphere here is second to none. While a catch-up with friends after so long is bound to brighten your day in itself, gathering here takes that good-time feeling and elevates it even further.

The Rooftop At The Trafalgar St. James

Offering top-class alfresco drinking and dining with an eclectic Asian-inspired menu, The Rooftop is one of the city’s best spots for those looking to soak up good vibes and even better views.

Outdoor seating here is limited, so be sure to book well in advance – this may just be one of the hottest seats in town right now.

Aviary

Exuberant, bright and – above all – fun, the Aviary offers guests a more intimate alfresco experience with their famous rooftop igloos, where groups of up to six guests can gather round to enjoy great food, great drinks and great company.

You’re probably noticing a theme here as far as the outlook of these places go, but it’s still worth us pointing out that the view from the Aviary is nothing short of beautiful. The rooftop itself is brilliantly decorated, too, complete with plenty of avian-inspired decor, including various giant peacocks – well, why not?

Boundary London Rooftop

Set in the heart of Shoreditch, Boundary London’s rooftop bar offers a carefully-crafted menu of Mediterranean-inspired food and drinks, including a range of delicious fresh seafood dishes and a premium-quality cocktail list for guests to enjoy.

Sophisticated to no end, if you’re looking for a place to drink and dine in style, Boundary London’s rooftop bar is certainly a very worthy contender.

All venues are available to book now through their respective websites.
